One of the things that hinder us to reach for our dreams is our lack of self-esteem and self-confidence. Negative thoughts may also have contributed much on our being lack of self-confidence and self-esteem and that may not be good if you want to achieve your goals and realize our dreams.

1. Learn to find the positive things in you and in the everything around you. Indeed, positive thoughts is one of the biggest factors that can help you improve your self-esteem and confidence. Write down the negative statements that you often tell yourself and make sure you don’t say them again. Or you can transform them into positive ones. Telling yourself, “I am not good enough for that” or “I am always a loser” will not help you in any way. Try to cultivate positive thoughts instead.
2. Start with positive affirmations. Learn to identify positive things that you have now and the positive things you want to become. Write them down in short sentences and read them every morning or record and listen to them every morning. Statements like “I take care of my body” or as simple as telling yourself “I can do this” or “I can do that” will help a lot in changing the way you look at things. Doing positive affirmation is indeed one of the useful tips to improve self-esteem and regain confidence but you also have to do this regularly.
3. Try to be a positive person and be with positive people. The more you try to be a positive person, the more you can gain friends and with that, the more you can find confidence in yourself that you can indeed make friends. Being with positive people can also influence you to become positive and helps you in finding motivation in the things you want to do.
4. Learn to overcome your fears and overcome your failures. Most often, being afraid to commit mistakes can often lead us to having lack of self-confidence and belief in ourselves. Don’t let your fears pull you down. When you fail, stand up, move on and learn from your mistakes and failures.
5. List down everything that you appreciate in yourself, and list down the things that make you proud of yourself. Sometimes we just tend to magnify mistakes and failures and we often forget that we do have strengths as a person and we just have to acknowledge that. List them all and you will find that there are a lot of great things that can make you feel proud of yourself.
6. Take care of yourself. One of the simple tips to improve self-esteem and boost your confidence is to take care of yourself and be healthy. Think about yourself too. You don’t have to go out and try to please everybody all the time. Taking care of yourself and attending to your needs can make you feel better about yourself and a good start in building self-esteem as well.
7. Find time to do things that you enjoy doing. Enjoying a hobby or a good sport will help a lot in making you feel better and happier about yourself. Small things like these do help a lot as your first steps in improving your self-esteem, building your self-confidence and working on to achieve whatever you want in life.
