It took a moment
As my eyes adjusted to the new day
The baby giggling me a lullaby
& making sure I was safe
It was cold & the world was different..
Quieter somehow.. slower than I remember
Yet there’s more noise & fear..
My friends aren’t here
Nor is anyone coming to free me
But when I look at my hands..
I recognize myself
And when the children sing..
I remember the songs of my people
& why I’m here
And why together..
It’s a beautiful day

tnx sudhaanaiduu – yes.. I broke up with my GF this morning.. looked around @ the day & started to write – it was difficult.. but I believe it’s still going to be a beautiful day – tnx again – S
